The centre of the Church of England in Wiltshire,
the heart, the mother of the diocese,
where worship has been active for over two millennia
– and not all Christian.
As we pray to take back the small Yatesbury Church for Christ,
from the grip of pagan worship in the village,
being near the Avebury standing stones,
think of Patrick of Ireland,
who christianised a pagan nation
in the 4th c by an extraordinary mission.
C’mon God. Do it again through your faithful few!
